my brother is better than yours.

My little brother, Clark, of "smartest mom in the ward fame," is now 11 years old. Today he came home from school with a poster he made earlier in the year as a "getting to know you" activity.

Here is what the poster said:

CLARK

Loves- baseball, volleyball, skiing.

Hates- John Mccain, Bees

Fears- Global Warming, Bush administration

Wishes- NO (underlined) more wars

Enjoys- Golfing, Math

Admirs (supposed to be "admires") Barack Obama, Al Gore.

This is how Clark introduced himself to his class on the first day of school. Whether you agree with the politics of an 11 year old or not, you have to admit it is impressive.

My brother is better than yours

I don't even HAVE a brother and now I am glad I don't -- 'cuz he so could not hang with that.

I have an 18 year old sister I can set him up with in like, 10 years.

Seriously though, that's great. I'd love to have been in the room to see the look on the teacher's face when he presented his poster.

OK, I need to get pregnant tomorrow with a girl to be betrothed to Clark (doesn't every man need an MCB?)

Steph. I don't think you have access to my fam's blog anymore. And it's just wrong wrong wrong. Email me at sar.eaton@gmail.com and I'll hook you up. :)

PS I miss you. Why is it that we are only phone tag people now?

Awesome. How did his class respond?

I remember back in 1992 when Clinton was running for president my fifth grade teacher held a mock election in the classroom and I was the only person to vote for Clinton. For awhile the whole class hated me. Fun times.

Did he get the same kind of thing?

My son Clark was widely admired by his peers. He goes to the most liberal school in Utah. Only one girl who admires Sarah Palin snubbed him.

Wow, I approve. Please tell Clark that I will be bragging about him for years :P

Check out what my 8-year old Canadian son had to say about the American election. VERY funny. http://www.becomingsomething.com/2008/10/my-8-year-olds-take-on-canadian-and-us-politics.html

You definitely don't have to publish this and I don't want to offend you or hurt your feelings. I also hope I don't sound self righteous (this is YOUR blog, after all and I just stopped by so I know I'll probably get a "who does this woman think she is?" and I probably wouldn't blame you) - but I'm just surprised that the word "Hate" was used in reference to a person by an 11 year old. I guess I'm sad that hate toward anyone is being praised. Whether you agree with someone's politics or not, hate is a pretty strong word and I feel that nobody who has served our country faithfully to the best of their intentions, whether it be Obama or McCain or a republican or a democrat, deserves the hatred of an 11 year old little boy, or the hatred of anyone for that matter. And it definitely doesn't deserve praise. Isn't that what's dividing our parties and our country right now?
