From a second year junior high math teacher - it does get better. The first year was hard but this year has been a lot better. :) Keep at it. Though they do continue to share way more than you really want to know about them, bless their hearts!
Hey, the most important thing you can do is care about your students. If they sense you care, you will be able to communicate the lessons you teach, and they'll remember Ms. L as their best teacher ever. And, I hope, recognize a simile.
