Peace In Our Time!

Yes we Can! (and, Did!)

Joy to the World!

Big Brother is Watching!

And other celebratory phrases.......

Guess what internet! The Era of Big Government, ahem, I mean, The Era of Stephanie's Useless Masters Degree is OVER.............

I got a teaching job. Is it temporary, yes. Is it part-time, yes. But what the hell! Pseudo job is better than no job, and a hell of a lot better than waitressing.

I'm so excited to start TEACHING 15 year olds, instead of simply ordering them to buss my table.

I'm teaching 10th Grade English at a High School near you. By any luck, by the time the real teacher comes back from extended leave, I'll have transformed her students into socialist liberals who love black people! *

Hurray!

*I'm totally kidding. Seriously. My goals are much more simple. Basic understanding of whatever novel I'm teaching, and knowing the difference between a simile** and a metaphor is all I need to feel I've done my job. So calm down, Republicans.

**yep, that was mispelled before, judge me please.

oh, MCB. a simile perhaps?

congrats on the job. better brush up on that spelling - there's nothing like a 16-year-old intellectual snob telling you about EVERY MISTAKE YOU MAKE. (as opposed to myself, who is a 39-year-old IS.)

Congratulations! Anybody who gets a job in this economy--even a part-time job--should be revered. Have fun warping the minds of those teenagers.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! There is NOTHING like your first teaching job. Even if it is SO hard and SO much work you will LOVE it because you've ARRIVED!!!

And it just keeps getting better and better with time (age?).

Those kids are lucky to have such an enlightened teacher. You know, one who actually thinks about the world around her.

I taught sophomore English. Make sure your class has a fire extinguisher. Seriously. They jammed tin foil into the light socket. Seriously.

That's funny, because I teach literature to 15 year olds and my goal really is to make them into diversity loving socialists. Not easy to do in the AZ.It would be more challenging if I were teaching seminary however. Wonder why I'm not...
