confessions. pop culture edition.

I'm watching Raising Helen right now, and damn it, I'm enjoying it.

I watched Bachelor Pad today, and that is the most entertaining show ever. I was so bored by Ali last season that I didn't even watch the last two episodes. But I will watch hot people throw tantrums and play games half naked any day of the week. How crazy is Elizabeth? You tell everyone how much you love me, or me and all my girlfriends will get you voted off! Why don't you appreciate everything I do for you!

I always wondered about the behind-the-scenes action in the controlling-girlfriend relationships, and I now know how all those cheerleaders got those nice baseball players to stay with them forever. (Or all of senior year.)

Which do I need the judging space for- my obsession with Kate Hudson films, or my deeply rooted addiction to schadenfreude via Chris Harrison? Both?

I base my non-reality TV selections on a weird sense of loyalty. For instance, I started watching Parenthood because Lorelai Gilmore was on it, and Mad Men because Zoe from West Wing was on it. I feel like it's my job to watch and make sure they are successful in their new endeavors.

It wouldn't be confession without audience participation. What embarrassing things do you watch? You should tell me, because it is my birthday tomorrow. I'm 24.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Hands down, worst show I've ever seen. But I can't stop watching.

I do the same loyalty thing. You were in Firefly? Battlestar Galactica? I'll be watching you on your new show. Congratulations!

I'm not watching a lot of trashy TV lately. I should have my temperature checked.

My Super Sweet Sixteen - makes me want to smack the screen but I still love it. Also One Tree Hill which is terrible!!!!

I totally get the loyalty thing. Nathan Fillion is the only reason I watch Castle.

I feel the similar pull of supporting favorite's careers. Obviously Veronica Mars was canceled because I didn't watch it on tv, only dvd. Obviously Jake 2.0 was canceled because I didn't watch it enough, so I must watch Christopher Gorham on Covert Affairs, despite it being Alias Lite. But the real guilty pleasure? Watching anything on Disney channel after my children are no longer in the room...and laughing at it.

I started watching The Good Wife for Julianna Margulies. When she left ER a few years ago, she took a piece of my heart.
I'm glad you enjoyed Bachelor Pad. I enjoyed Crazybeth's antics as well. Tenley is going to screech herself to death.
PS-waking up early for work again sucks. It's 6:40 and I've already been up for 2 hours. I rather prefer the "Ladies Who Lunch" schedule but at least you will be awake for me to text in a few more weeks!

First of all, Happy Birthday! Second of all, I've been following your blog forever. I roomed with your little sis Laura - (who is almost as funny as you - haha) - and I'm pretty sure that's how I found this. Just wanted to say I'm obsessed with your blog. And I'm obsessed with lame TV shows like The Hills. No idea why.

Ali's season was SO boring, i couldn't wait for it to be over, and bachelor pad is a million times more entertaining! I think Elizabeth is underated on the craziness factor-maybe now that michelle is out of there, the phsyco spotlight with shine on elizabeth! I am disspointed with the men though, except for maybe kipton, they are all losers! Happy Birthday!

I watched ER because Lindsay from Freaks and Geeks was in it. Bad idea. I watch Bachelor/Bachelorette (my husband started me watching it!).

I cannot stop watching Judge Judy. People are ridiculous and I love it when she yells at them.

Happy Birthday!

Bachelor Pad is amazing. Holy cow - I didn't think I'd enjoy it that much. I couldn't have been more off base. So that's pretty embarrassing. I also own Saved By The Bell and Boy Meets World on DVD. This is completely acceptable to some people.... my husband is not one of them. I think he embarrassed on my behalf and has requested that I never show them to anybody or admit that they are in our house. I like the movie Blue Crush. HA! How's that for a confessions. Oh yeah - in my younger days (and by younger, I mean when I was like 21-22 years old) I definitely enjoyed Hilary Duff flicks. Thank goodness I'm passed that one. I think those are the really bad ones.

When I had no computer for two weeks, I watched a lot of shows featuring people with the last name of "Kardashian." I cannot believe they're all still talking to each other (on occasion).

Schadenfreude is often what keeps me going during the work week.

I watch an embarrassing number of gastly shows, most noteably anything with Bret Michaels attached.

Happy Birthday!! I'll need my own judging space when I tell you that my guilty tv pleasure is Reba.

Okay, I just watched Bachelor Pad too, and I looooved it.

Elizabeth=crazy manipulative biiitch. I was also obsessed with the fact that I think she looks like Dooce.

One of the chicks (Nikki, I think?) looks like Sandra Bullock. I see celebrity look-alikes everywhere I go, I guess.

Also, Michelle totally shot herself in the foot. She locked Minnie Mouse in the bathroom. You don't lock Minnie Mouse in a bathroom! Guys don't like girls who make Minnie Mouse cry.

Happy Birthday!! I used to watch Wishbone. Even though I was 19.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey. It's a problem.

Happy Birthday! I am obsessed with two MTV reality shows: "16 and Pregnant" and "Jersey Shore". I, too, teach high school and decided that the student who suggested a Jersey Shore themed homecoming at our leadership retreat on Monday automatically gets an A in my class this fall.

I love both Wishbone and My Super Sweet Sixteen. I also loved "NEXT". Oh....and Maury. I love me some Maury.

Project Runway. My cousin was on it a few seasons ago and Jess and I have tuned in ever since. By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

*whispers* Big Brother.

(I can't root for a single houseguest this season, and yet? I stay up until 3:00 AM watching the episodes online.)

I started watching Parenthood for that same reason! But now I love it. Can't wait for next season. My guilty pleasure show used to be the Bachelor/ette, but my husband HATES when I watch. Buzz-kill. So now I watch Cougar Town after he's gone to bed.

I love Glee. I hope Jane Lynch gets an Emmy. Used to be Desperate Housewives. I resist Parenthood, but it's calling my name again.

Happy, happy, happy birthday!

Probably Hell's Kitchen. Ridiculous? Yes. Lots of bleeped out swearing? Yes. I still find it fascinating/hilarious.

Happy birthday tomorrow!

I am still hooked on One Tree Hill. And continually back to my Gilmore Girls DVD's. I have heard rumors that OTH will be canceled, and if they do that with out resolving last season, CW will get some pretty heated hate mail from at lease one viewer. And I learned long ago not to judge you on your Reality TV obsession. Its just not worth wasting perfectly good judgment.
